Nigerian Senate  has Wednesday confirmed senator Musliu Obanikoro as a minister following postponements of his confimartion by the legislative body.

Opposition senators had vowed to stop confirmation of Senator Obanikoro as minister following reports accusing him of using his postition as junior minister of defence to help in the  alleged rigging of Ekiti state governorship election.

Obanikoro had resigned his position to contest for the ticket of Peoples Democtaric Party in the Lagos state governorship election. After losing the party’s primary election in Lagos state, he was nominated for the  ministerial position by President Goodluck Jonathan.
