The Edo State Ecological/Climate Change Funding and Management Commission has extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to the career and non career ambassadors-designate consisting of Oduma Yvonne Ehinose, Wasa Shogun Ige, Engr. Abbas Braimah, Ogbonnaya Kalu Esq., Reno Omokri, Femi Fani Kayode and others, recently cleared by the Senate for diplomatic appointments.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, the Senate’s clearance of the ambassadors-designate was described as a clear affirmation of the confidence reposed in these distinguished Nigerians, whose nomination by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is firmly rooted in their proven track record of commitment, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to national service.
Dr. Agbomhere commended President Tinubu for prioritising merit, experience, and competence in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic presence across the globe.
He noted that the ambassadors-designate have, over the years, rendered exemplary service to the nation in various capacities, adding that their elevation to represent Nigeria on the international stage is both well-deserved and timely, especially at a period when strategic global engagement is crucial.
The Commission further expressed confidence that the newly cleared ambassadors would uphold Nigeria’s longstanding diplomatic values and contribute meaningfully to advancing the country’s image and interests abroad.
“As they prepare to assume their respective postings, the Commission appeals to them to sustain their proud tradition of diligence, integrity, and patriotism in the countries to which they will be accredited.”
“I encourage the Career and non Career Ambassadors designate to actively project Nigeria’s core values, strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations, and promote constructive international engagement, including cooperation in critical areas such as climate action, environmental sustainability, economic development, and global partnerships,” the statement read.
He concluded with renewed congratulations to the career and non career ambassadors-designate, and prayers for successful, impactful, and distinguished tenures in the service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
