Speaking with journalists in Abuja yesterday, President-General of MUT, Engr. Edward Ujege, said, “Although we’re a non-political organization, we can’t keep silent on the credibility and competence that we’ve seen in the candidature of Distinguished Sen. George Akume.”
MUT described Akume as a politician with vast leadership acumen, saying “We’re convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the Senate and indeed Nigerians will find his sterling leadership qualities and experience of immense value at this important juncture of our development as a nation.”
According to Ujege, Akume who is a relative of one of northern Nigeria’s political colossus, Joseph Tarka, has “provided excellent leadership in the 7th Senate as a ranking senator and the minority leader.”
The Tiv group noted that the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration will fulfil its campaign promises to Nigerians only if competent hands are allowed to run affairs.
