Ashafa who spoke when he visited the West African Ceramics exhibition booth during the tour of the exhibition ground of the Building Construction & Mining Mart 2014 Expo in Lagos, commended the West African Ceramics Ltd for its local production of high quality ceramic and vitrified tiles to meet the needs of the building construction industry in Nigeria.
The senator representing Lagos East who was the special guest of the grand opening of the expo expressed appreciation to the company for indigenous production of vitrified tiles which meet international standards and quality.

He hailed the display of ceramic tiles and the vitrified porcelain tiles produced by West African Ceramics under its flagship brands, Royal Ceramics and VIT Porcelain.
Tosin Elaturoti, Marketing Rep, South-West, West African Ceramics Ltd thanked the senator.
Elatoroti who had earlier introduced the various products on display to the senator said the production of vitrified tiles is a demonstration of the company’s commitment to serve the building and construction industry where the need for floor, wall, and roofing tiles is concerned.
According to him, the production process is distinct from the production of ceramic tiles, emphasizing that vitrified tile is made by baking fine minerals like various clay at extreme high temperatures where the individual grains or particles melt and fuse make a glass-like surface, thus creating a single mass making them extremely hard with low porosity, and resistant to stain.
Elatoroti added that the vitrified porcelain tiles are produced in variants of Diamond, Marbonite, and Granite series and in different sizes of 30 x 60; 40 x 40; and 60 x 60.
He said the company is preparing towards production of digital tile which is the next big thing in tile production in Nigeria.
Hinging on the theme of the expo, “Construction Stand: Knowing the Equipment for the Job”, Elatoroti said West African Ceramic Ltd provides advice and assistance to builders and architects in the showrooms located in Lagos, Abuja, and Suleja.
The Building Construction & Mining Mart 2014 is a material, machinery and heavy equipment exposition organized by the Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI) to showcase building and construction materials and machinery that are obtainable locally to meet the needs of the industry.
