As part of efforts towards the improvement of healthcare delivery in his constituency, Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, has donated drugs, medical equipment and consumables worth millions of naira to Primary Health Centres in Jaba Local Government Area of the State.

Senator Katung who was represented by a former Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr. Thot Joseph, at the handing over ceremony pledged to continue touching the lives of the people at the grassroots.

He said the drugs would be distributed to selected Primary Health Care Centres within the local government area.

The Senator who promised to continue supporting members of his constituency for access to an enhanced healthcare system and other dividends of democracy, charged the benefiting Primary Healthcare Centres to make judicious use of the drugs for the benefit of humanity.

Katung also disclosed that he is focused on ameliorating the hardship being experienced by the people at the grassroots added that he will do everything possible to ensure the well-being of his citizens.

Receiving the items on behalf of the PHCs, the deputy director of health in Jaba Local Government, Nurse Rehab Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the Senator, promising to ensure the judicious use of the donated drugs, medical equipment and consumables.

She applauded Senator Katung’s foresight and huge investment in the health sector, even as she appealed to other well meaning and privileged persons in the State to emulate the selfless gesture and support efforts to improve and maintain a high standard in healthcare delivery in Kaduna State.
