The Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday elected a new Executive Committee (EXCO) to steer the affairs of the party in the state to victory in the 2027 General Elections.
The new committee emerged during a well-attended state delegates’ congress held in Gusau, the state capital.
The historic exercise drew hundreds of delegates, party chieftains, elders, and stakeholders, and was conducted peacefully, with all participants maintaining exemplary decorum.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel were on the ground to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise.
At the end of the congress, Alhaji Surajo Garba Mai Katako an associate of Senator Marafa emerged as the Chairman of the NDC in Zamfara State.
With the recent joining of NDC by Senator Marafa, the party has witnessed massive registration from across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara State.
Marafa, a grassroots politician and former Senator for Zamfara Central Senatorial District is expected to clinch the governorship ticket of the NDC and uproot the APC in Zamfara State by winning the February 6 governorship election in the state, Insha Allah.
