Earlier, Oyinlola had assisted the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, to crown Oba Omisore at a ceremony attended by top government functionaries, members of the National Assembly and captains of industry and commerce.

Oyinlola described the event as “an important milestone in the life of this community”, adding that it was a demonstration of the importance his administration accords culture and tradition of the people.

He urged the people to team up with Oba Omisore to ensure even development of the town.

Oyinlola reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the well-being of the people, saying that he would continue to improve on the performances of his administration so that “all segments of our society and all parts of the state benefit from our activities.”

The governor said he would continue to accord the traditional institution its well-deserved respect as monarchs were the closest link between the government and the people, adding that they assisted in mobilising support for government policies and programmes as well as enlightening the public on such policies.
