Executive Secretary, Senior Secondary Education Commission, Dr Benjamin Abakpa, says the commission will retrain senior secondary school teachers.
He said this was to enable the teachers undertake the task of equipping the students with the adequate skills for nation building.
A statement Sunday by the commission’s spokesperson, Fatima Baparre, quoted Abakpa as saying this when the management of the National Mathematical Centre paid him a visit. He stressed the need for teachers’ adequate training to re-position the senior secondary education with a view to meeting societal needs. Abakpa charged the Mathematics Centre to brace up with the challenge of laying the right foundation for teaching Mathematics in senior secondary schools and ensure Mathematics teachers are adequately re-skilled.
