Serial car brain box, stereo thieves remanded in Kwara

A magistrate court sitting in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital, has ordered the remand of Oluwole Felix and Taiye Ajeni from Ondo State who specialise in breaking into cars to steal brain box, car stereo, and other vehicle accessories.

The suspects were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery contrary to Section 6B and 1 (2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act.

According to the charge sheet, they were arrested by the community police group of Kulende area while trying to break into a Toyota Camry with Reg. No. AGB-189-LM.

“Investigation led to the recovery of the vehicle and valuable items such as vehicle brain boxes and car stereos among other things were found.

“But the third suspect later known as Eze escaped. The duo voluntarily confessed to the alleged crime and it was also discovered that they were the actual culprits, terrorising Ilorin and its environs,” the police said.

Prosecutor, Abdulahi Sanni, urged the court to reject his bail, a position that was opposed by the defence counsel, Barrister Toyin Onaolapo.

In his ruling, magistrate Shittu ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned the case to Tuesday.
