The planned briefing by the Service Chiefs and heads of the other security agencies which was to have held today at the Senate was put off due to the absence of some of the service chiefs.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs who spoke to journalists on the development said the absence of the security chiefs made the senate to call of the meeting.

Absent at the meeting was the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba and Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar.

The senate had called the meeting to allow the service chiefs brief it on the recent security situations in the North East of Nigeria.
