The District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has directed his village heads to set up committees to ensure proper maintenance and management of the graveyards in their communities.
Speaking during the distribution of clay pot, burial cloth and working tools to all the nine village heads in the district, Kankara said the gesture was to improve sanitation in and around graveyards in the district, saying that henceforth there should be unscheduled visits to monitor the state of graveyards in the area.
According to him, the graveyard was the final abode of all living soul as such all hands must be on deck to ensure their proper upkeep and maintenance.
In a related development, A biography, late Kanwa of Katsina II, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Nadabo written by Malam Bishir Nuhu on behalf of Kanwa Usman Bello Kankara was launched and distributed to public.
Similarly, Association of Nigerian tudents NANS North West presented an after service award to Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara in recognition of his selfless service to his community after retirement as comptroller of customs.
Responding, the district head thanked the NANS for finding him worthy of the award and wished them success in their studies. He also charged them to continue to work hard and pledged his continued support.
