Seun Kuti’s ‘Black Times’ album has earned him a nomination in the Best World Album category of the 2019 Grammy Awards, announced on Friday.

Released in March, ‘Black Times,’ launched Seun on the Billboard music charts.

The artiste had in an earlier interview with entertainment platform, Sound City, Seun had expressed optimism about winning the award.

He said, “I really hope to get nominated and I hope we will also win. This album is my best work. Just like my shows, I make sure that my last album has to be my best album.”

While his older brother, Femi has received Grammy nominations but not won any, fans of Seun hope, his will turn the tides for the Kutis by getting him the Grammy.
