Having been released from prison, Seun Anikulapo Kuti is now on tour in Europe. The well-known Afrobeat artist has begun his summer tour, which had been put on hold due to his trial.
He announced on May 25, 2023, that he was travelling to Zurich, Switzerland, where his show will start tonight.
He posted a photo of himself aboard an aeroplane with the caption, “Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich,” on his Instagram stories.
The 40-year-old was detained on May 15, 2023, after being caught on camera punching a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge, putting his tour momentarily on pause.
The following day, Kuti was taken into custody at the state criminal investigation department and held there for six days.
He was eventually released after satisfying the terms of his bail. His lawsuit was postponed until July 3, 2023, giving him enough time to complete his ongoing tour.
