Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced a popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka James, alias Baba Ijesha, to 16 years’ imprisonment for indecent treatment and sexual assault of a minor between 2013 and 2014.

Baba Ijesha was pronounced guilty of counts 2, 3, 4 and 5, while the prosecution could not prove the offences on counts 1 and 6.

The court held that the prosecution successfully proved counts 2 and 4; that he indecently placed the girl on his laps and rubbed his penis on her body.

He was also found guilty of counts 4 and 5, where he was accused of indecently touching the same minor and sexually assaulting her seven years later by rubbing her body and sucking her fingers.

But Justice Taiwo found him not guilty of counts 1 and 6, which dwelt on sexually assaulting the minor by penetrating her with his car key.
