While addressing a group of young people in Yola, Adamawa State capital, Seyi Tinubu, President Bola Tinubu’s son, said: “It was never politics, but they keep coming for me, they keep coming for my family, they keep coming for your father, they keep coming for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the greatest president in the history of Nigeria.”

Reacting to this, Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, a forefront youth advocate, in an opinion piece, titled “Seyi Tinubu: A Legacy of Giving That Will Not Be Undermined”, said Seyi’s words were not of frustration.

It reads: “For years, Seyi Tinubu has devoted himself to philanthropy not for recognition, not for politics, but because he believes in service. Long before his father became Nigeria’s leader, he was actively investing in people, funding scholarships, supporting young entrepreneurs, and creating platforms for others to thrive.

“But today, even goodwill is under attack.

“During his Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) Ramadan Tour in Yola, Adamawa State, Seyi Tinubu finally addressed the relentless mischaracterization of his work:

“‘It was never politics, but they keep coming for me, they keep coming for my family, they keep coming for your father, they keep coming for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the greatest president in the history of Nigeria.’

“These words were not of frustration, but of clarity. There comes a time when even the most patient must set the record straight.

“A Commitment That Predates Politics

“It is important to remember that Seyi Tinubu’s philanthropy did not start today. From the Noella Foundation to youth development initiatives, his focus has always been on empowering others. He has never needed political office to make an impact.

“Yet, despite this, his recent efforts—especially the RHYE Ramadan Tour—have been met with cynicism. A program designed solely to provide food and relief during the holy month has somehow become a point of controversy. But the facts remain: feeding people is not a political act. Extending a helping hand is not a campaign strategy.

“Redefining Leadership Through Action

“While others debate and critique, Seyi Tinubu continues to act. His philanthropy is not seasonal, and his impact will not be diminished by baseless attacks. Leadership is not just about holding office—it is about making a difference where it matters.

“For those who question his sincerity, the answer is simple: the work speaks for itself.

“The RHYE program will continue. The scholarships will grow. The youth empowerment projects will expand. And no amount of negativity will change that.

“At the end of the day, the people who have benefited from his work know the truth. And that is what matters.”
