Sunday Trust caught up with the crooner and enquired about his long absence from the entertainment scene.

“You see it is not as if Shaba has gone underground, you are a witness to all the transformation processes that the industry has been going through for the last three years or so. The challenges in the industry now is enormous and one has to get prepared to face those challenges.

“When the tempo becomes very high, the dance steps will definitely change. In an industry like ours and with people like us who believe in producing quality product, one has to be very dedicated and innovative in what he does,” he said.

The artiste said he has been active having just released an audio and video album titled ‘Babata’ which he said is “doing very well in the market.”

“I have also completed compilation of my new audio album which by the will of God will also be release into the market soon,” he added.

Shaba also talked about his encroachment into films, saying, “Ever since I joined the industry I have been involved in both, only that I am more known as a musician than an actor. I came into the industry as an English singer, but a close observation shows that

the industry may not welcome us with the line of music we have chosen for ourselves. So we have to accept the facts that since we want to be part of the industry, we need to follow the trend. So we developed what we call the Hausa Dancehall music.
