Shaykh Ibrahim Nakaka has emerged as the new chairman of the Council of Imamas and Ulama, Kaduna state.
He takes over from Shaykh Usman Abubakar Baban Tine who died on 10th September, 2018 at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Shika, after a brief illness.
A statement by the Secretary General of the council, Malam Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu issued on Thursday in Kaduna said Shaykh Nakaka emerged as chairman after series of consultations among its members.
He said the Chief Imam of Zaria Lowcost mosque, Dr. Muhammad Aliyu is now the 1st Vice Chairman while the Chief Imam of Yahaya road mosque and the Acting Chief Imam of Kafanchan mosque, Shaykh Muhammad Hassan and Malam Muhammad Kabir Qasim are 2nd and 3rd Vice Chairmen respectively.
He urged members to be steadfast and join hands to work for the progress of Islam and Nigeria.
