Two governorship aspirants, Shehu Buba Umar and David Sabo Kente from Bauchi and Taraba respectively, have withdrawn from the governorship race in their states.

Buba’s withdrawal was contained in a statement  signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Comrade Sabo Mohammed.

Mohammed alleged, “The Party officials have practically been hijacked by persons who do not mean well for the party having allowed themselves to be caged at undisclosed hotels in Bauchi State without appearing at the elections’ venues but releasing predetermined results of the elections with persons who are not people’s choices as winners, as they do not have electoral value in the forthcoming 2027 General elections.”

David Sabo kente expressed disappointment with the process of  primaries saying some aspirants were favoured.

Kente,said his decision was based on what happened during the House of representative and Senate Primaries in which the power in the state returned all those  they wanted to win.

David Kente, had earlier said he was not going to  withdraw from the race.He said from all indications there is not going to be free and fair governorship election in Taraba state in  2027.

He  also revealed that the National chairman of All Progressive Congress had called him and advised him to sit with the Governor Kefas and sort things out with him.
