The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn-Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi

Shehu Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Mustafa Lawan Usman, as Mai Kanuribe of Kano.

A letter signed by the Secretary of Borno Emirate Council, Zannah Laisu Kazalma, said the appointment takes effect immediately.

Mai Kanuribe is the leader of Borno indigenes in Kano who performs all the functions of an envoy of the emirate.

“Your appointment is premised on your honesty, dedication, and commitment to serve the good people of Borno State in Kano and your general acceptability.

“By this appointment, it is the expectation of his Highness, the Shehu of Borno that you will exhibit good leadership qualities and carry along all Borno indigenes living in Kano irrespective of the their tribe or religious inclination”.

The Shehu urged the appointee to work closely with Kano Emirate Council to promote common interest of Borno community as well as the peace, understanding, unity and development of the host community.
