The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district,Shehu Sani has faulted the Federal Government’s decision to shut land borders over rice smuggling.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh had disclosed this while addressing youths at the Guardians of the Nations International (GOTNI) leadership clinic in Abuja.

The lawmaker in a tweet said,"Its wrong to shut down the land borders ‘because of rice smuggling’.Our layers of security operatives should be able to combat or prevent smuggling without suffocating legitimate businesses and stifling border communities".
