Former Senator of Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has called on the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to reinstate Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi as Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, he criticised the minister’s decision to reinstate Professor Stella Ngozi Lemchi as Vice Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, while Professor Maikudi remains removed from office.
He noted that both Maikudi and Lemchi were removed from their offices under similar circumstances, saying they deserve equal treatment.
Shehu Sani wrote, “Two female Vice Chancellors were removed by the education minister—Professor Stella Ngozi Lemchi of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and Professor Aisha Maikudi of UniAbuja. While the former has been reinstated, the latter has not. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.”
He urged the minister to uphold the principle of fairness and equity by reinstating the embattled UniAbuja VC.
He added, “The Honorable Minister should reinstate Professor Aisha Maikudi for fairness, equity, and justice.”
