Sheikh Jingir says TTCs should be revived

The National Chairman Ulama Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir has called on Federal Government to revive defunct Teacher Training Colleges (TTC).

Sheikh Jingir who spoke during the matriculation ceremony of about 105 new students of Sahlan School of Health Technology in Jos also urged the governments and Nigerians to make history a lucrative course.

He explained that the abysmal standard currently characterizing Nigeria’s Education Sector has been worrisome which prompt the nostalgia for the return of TTCs.

He said, “The demise of Teachers Training Colleges has caused poor quality education in Nigeria. You would see a university graduates who cannot speak and or write good English.

“The return of TTC would train our teachers and give them know-how on how to teach their students.”
