Vice-President Kashim Shettima led prominent politicians including governors to Bauchi for the turbaning of the immediate past governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar as Makama Babba 1 of Bauchi Emirate and the wedding Fatiha of his daughter, Khadija Mohammed.
The dual ceremonies were held at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.
In attendance were Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Ministers, Lawmakers and political leaders from across the country and beyond.
Speaking during the ceremonies, the host, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and infrastructural development and pledged to continue to execute projects and programmes that have direct positive impacts on the lives of residents, with particular focus on opening up the rural areas.
Mohammed assured that under his watch, people-oriented projects would spread across all 20 local government areas of the state.
Earlier in this remarks, Emir of Bauchi, explained that the traditional title of Makama Babba 1 was conferred on the former Governor in recognition of his contributions to the development of the State.
The monarch urged him to continue to contribute to the good of the people of the state in whatever position he found himself.
