Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to building inclusive prosperity through enterprise-driven reforms as he launched the 9th Expanded National MSME Clinic in Katsina State.

At the event, Shettima announced the president’s approval of a N250,000 non-repayable grant for each outstanding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) participating in the clinic.

He said the intervention aims to empower innovative entrepreneurs and strengthen the backbone of Nigeria’s economy.

Highlighting other initiatives, the Vice President mentioned a N75 billion Manufacturers Fund and the Rural Area Programme on Investment for Development (RAPID), which has provided N112 million to 23 MSMEs in rural Katsina.

He also revealed that N576 million had been disbursed to 237 beneficiaries under the N5 billion Katsina State MSME Growth Fund—a joint federal and state initiative launched in June 2024.

In his address titled “Katsina: The Spirit of Enterprise,” Shettima described MSMEs as a key pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda, promoting inclusive growth and job creation.

Following the launch, Shettima commissioned the dual carriage Central Mosque–Kofar Murasa–WTC Road and inaugurated the state-of-the-art Agricultural Data and Control Center under the Katsina State Sustainable Platform for Agriculture (KASPA).

Earlier in his remarks, Governor Dikko Radda commended the Federal Government for its continued support and announced a six-month mentorship programme for entrepreneurs who participated in the MSME clinic.

“This clinic will stand out, as I have directed KASEDA to provide post-event support to every registered participant,” the governor stated.

He disclosed that Katsina State has established a N5.5 billion MSME Fund, with over N1 billion already disbursed to 701 businesses — positioning the state as a leader in enterprise development.
