In a statement by Mr. Brian Etuk, the Corporation’s Head of Public Affairs, the programme takes place from October 28 to November 1st 2013. Participants, he said, will be drawn from the Nigerian creative industry made up of film producers, film directors, editors, cinematographers, television and radio professionals (Broadcasters), information officers; cutting across the ranks of Chief Executives, Directors, Managers of Broadcast and Production companies, domestic and foreign.
This year’s theme is ‘High Definition: The New Era’ and the five basic courses for the five-day training intended to consolidate and arm participants on the millennium High Definition Digital Production are: Advanced Digital Sound Production, Advanced Digital Cinematography, Digital Editing for Film and Television, and High Definition Production Management for Film and Television, the statement further added.
Meanwhile, the Corporation’s Managing Director, Dr. Danjuma Wurim Dadu has said participants are in for a better deal. He said, the workshop is a deliberate effort of the NFC to tackle the death of expertise within the creative industry in Nigeria.
The statement quotes Dadu as saying that “with the volume of human resources available within the sector, it was only necessary and ideal to match it with sustainable training and capacity building. This will not only provide the bases for world class standard in digital production, but put Nigerian counterparts at par with their foreign colleagues in the areas of competence and proficiency.”
