The management of Shooting Stars Sports (3SC) of Ibadan has appealed to the Oyo State government to release funds for the team so as to sign more experienced and quality players.

In a statement, the General Manager of the Oluyole Warriors, Mr Rasheed Balogun, said the management is working towards building a formidable team ahead of their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaign.

“We have learned a lesson and we cannot afford to make the mistake we made in the previous seasons. We are appealing to the state government to release funds for the team so as to compete favourably with the best clubs in the NPFL.

“3SC is bigger than NNL and we want to thank our governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his contribution towards our return to the elite league; but we want to move further by staying longer in NPFL and even compete at the continental level.

“Getting funds will help us recruit better players that our fans will be proud of, and we promise to deliver our task once the NPFL season begins. Support from government and individuals both within and outside the country will go a long way in helping our team achieve its target in the Nigerian top-flight,” Balogun said.
