In long sightedness near image appears blurred while the opposite is the case in short sightedness the long distance image appears blurred.

Long sightedness is caused by the eyeball being too short, so that light rays are focused behind the retina at the back of the eye and the image is blurry. This condition occurred  more with advancing age especially from forty years.
