Thoughts on the Medina massacre
Launching an attack during the most sacred month of the Muslim Ummah and more so at the second most sacred and exalted mosque in the Muslim world is a devilish act and hence condemnable in its entirety. Whoever is behind it must either be a radicalized Muslim group indoctrinated to have an illusion of martyrdom, while executing the mission, or a perceived enemy somewhere waging a reprisal attack. There is, therefore, no better time than now for the Arabian Peninsula and all other Muslim countries as well, to forge a united front so as to deal a blow to the menace of violent extremism and terrorism. Also, there is the need for building a new synergy among Muslim nations to allow for speedy intelligence gathering and sharing to curb activities of terror elements to the barest minimum.

This talk about striking petrol marketers
A solution has to be found to this problem of fuel marketers. They must think they rule the country, if not, why do they continue to hold us to ransom like terrorists? There’s already talk of a move by these marketers to go on strike, and for what reason? Is the high price of fuel suddenly not good enough for them, they need Nigerians to bend backward, again? This cabal must be intercepted at some point and destroyed before it is too late.

Insecurity across the country
It is no longer news that kidnapping has become one of the most lucrative ways for criminals to make money now. Thank God, the Sierra Leonean that was kidnapped in Kaduna has been released. Perhaps we will never know for sure if a ransom was paid or not. However, criminals who kidnap or murder must be made an example of. We should have as many policemen and women as possible. If possible, almost every street in big cities should have a police patrol car parked. Let criminals be chased minutes after their act. This will ensure their hearts are in their mouths whenever they carry out crime.

Looters should be punished
Whether looters return money or not, I think they should be punished. If not, we should stop jailing people that carry out petty crimes. How can you still millions and billions, return some of it and go free? No matter how desperate we are for money, we must take drastic measures. Right now, looting is going on, in God knows where. These people must be discouraged.
