Shortage of accommodation hits Katsina pilgrims

Hundreds of Katsina state pilgrims are stranded at Muna following shortages of tents that serve as accommodation.

Daily Trust reports that the tents meant for 2,753 pilgrims from the state board was over shot by about 300 other pilgrims who followed international routes and NAHCON.

Reserved tents for members of Amirul Hajj team and top government officials were over taken by angry pilgrims who could not secure a place to sleep.

Our reporter observed that members of the state assembly have to squat in their local government respective tents just as store for food was being converted to a makeshift accommodation.

Efforts to get comments from top government officials concern proved abortive.
