Former Kano Public Relation Officer of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zangina Ahmed Bunkure, has dared the SDP state party Chairman Shehu Gabam to set the records straight and produce evidence that shows that the party had expelled former SDP Vice-Presidential Candidate Engr. Yusuf S. Buhari, and the state party’s Ex gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Bala Gwagwarwa.
He said this while responding to the recent remarks made by the party’s state chairman during a BBC service Hausa interview.
The chairman had claimed that the duo were expelled from the party before going public to announce that they dumped SDP for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He further stated that another baffling claim made by Gabam was the assertion that Gwagwarwa never paid for his nomination fo.
“It is obvious that Gabam, who today claims to have expelled these two prominent SDP candidates, seems to have forgotten the circumstances under which they emerged as flag bearers of the party. L”
“In the case of Alhaji Bala Gwagwarwa, Gabam conveniently omitted how he personally reached out and pleaded with Gwagwarwa to pick up the gubernatorial ticket, for free,” he said.
He added that it was unfortunate that the same Gabam turned around to claim that Gwagwarwa failed to pay for his nomination form.
“If that were true, why did he personally offer the ticket? And if non-payment was truly the issue, why did Gabam wait until now, after Gwagwarwa’s defection to the APC, to make this claim?” asked the former PRO.
