The director, FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS), Alhaji Wadata Aliyu Bodinga, has urged officers of the service to shun acts capable of damaging the hard earned-reputation of the directorate in the territory.

Bodinga, who spoke at the inauguration of 250 new officials of the service, otherwise known as VIOs at Garki Area 10, Abuja, yesterday, said there are rules that must guide the conduct of the new staff while in service.

He said to deliver excellent service to all residents of the FCT, there was need for the newly inaugurated officers to hold themselves accountable and justify their actions in the confidence reposed on them by the FCT administration that offered them the career opportunity.

“And it is on this premise that I want to remind you that there are rules that must guide your conduct while in service. These rules, which you must keep in mind always,” he said.

The director appreciated the efforts and support of the FCT administration that made it possible for the DRTS to achieve its mandate of keeping FCT roads safe.

Also speaking, the acting secretary, FCT Transport Secretariat, Mrs. Odey-Achu A.I, said the FCT administration would work closely with the DRTS to ensure that roads are safe in the territory, adding that Abuja, as the capital of the nation with good infrastructure, the roads must always be kept safe.

She congratulated the newly inaugurated DRTS officers, urging them to always be at their duty posts on schedule and carry out their assigned duties with utmost sense of patriotism.

“In the course of discharging your daily tasks, you must imbibe the value of punctuality, honesty, cleanliness and obedience to superiors and constituted authority,” she said
