A Kano Shari’a Court No. 1, sitting at Kofar Kudu in Kano Municipal, has sentenced three siblings for threatening their father and assaulting his wife, their stepmother.
The convicts, Sadiq Lawan, Abdussalam Lawan, and Musa Lawan, were arraigned by the police and charged by the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Aliya Aminu Yargaya, with conspiracy, trespass, use of excessive force, threat, and theft.
All three pleaded guilty to the charges.
Presiding Khadi Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi Unguwar Gini sentenced each of them to four months imprisonment or a fine of N20,000 on the first count, in addition to 20 strokes of the cane.

They were also sentenced to another four months or a N20,000 fine, with another 20 strokes of the cane.
In addition, the court ordered that the siblings be placed under a six-month moral reformation program at an Islamiyya school.
They will also be required to wash their father’s clothes for another six months as part of their corrective punishment.
