Tomato farmers struggling with tuta Absoluta can now heave a sigh of relief as Bayer Middle Africa says their insecticide has shown effective response in halting the disease and broad spectrum of other crop pests.
The company’s representative in the north-central, Daniel Akor, who made the presentation at the expo, said several demonstrations have proven the efficacy of the pesticide against the notorious disease.
Bayer showcased three major agrochemicals considered to be top brand at the event.
New brands entering the markets in January
The Nigerian agricultural space may witness another new entrant in the agrochemicals sector in January.
Managing Director of Sumo Agrochem Ltd, Mr. Dipak V. Bhalekar, said the company would release its new brands of chemicals into the Nigerian market in January, 2019.
The Indian said that all the necessary quality control measures and health safety measures have been properly addressed, adding that farmers have nothing to worry about.
At least seven new products are expected to hit the market soon, it was gathered.
