Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Harrysong, is currently in the custody of the Nigerian Police Force. The Reggae and Blues singer was detained at the Airport Police Command in Lagos.
Harrysong was picked up immediately after landing in Nigeria following a petition sent to the Inspector General of Police by music executive, Soso Soberekon.
In a telephone with Daily Trust, the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the music star was in custody and writing a statement.
“He is currently in our custody and writing his statement,” the PPRO simply said.

The arrest of the singer comes a week after he stated in a podcast, Frankly Speaking, hosted by media personalities, Nedu, Husband Material, Toun, and Naomi, that Soberekon sent hired killers to him.
In a swift reaction, the music executive, Soberekon, slammed the singer with a lawsuit. In the notice posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Soberekon asked for a retraction of the statement, an apology and N500,000,000 for compensation.
Speaking on the allegation, the talent manager posted, “As a matter of fact, I always mind my business, stay on my lane and put smile on people’s faces. It is very disappointing that Harrysong will make such a false, reckless and defamatory statement.
“Please to my supporters, remain calm, this will be addressed and will be handled properly and legally. Thanks.”
Replying to the lawsuit, the singer took to his social media account and wrote, “You dey sue me for social media. Dem ask you question? Abi you sef go for interview? With your small prick and flat blockus. Empty konkom. You go chi chun thing.” (sic)
Confirming his detention, the singer via his social media account wrote, “I got arrested as I landed in
Lagos my phone has been seized, and they won’t allow me to communicate with my people.”
