The structure which is built to house the headquarters of NAGIS in Lafia is another milestone achieved in the execution of the totality of the NAGIS project.
Siraj sub-contracted the job to erect the compact building at the headquarters of the Lands and Urban Development Ministry to A&K Construction Nigeria Limited with the ministry as supervisors.
Siraj, in the third quarter of last year picked up the job to provide a complex to house the GIS service in Lafia after completing an operational complex in Mararaba, the gateway to Abuja.
“Arguably, we are moving far ahead of other states of the federation. We have moved Nasarawa from agrarian to a sophisticated society. That is what my boss, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura plans; he directed me to supervise the execution of this project as one close to his heart – to implement NAGIS to world class standards,” Sonny Agassi, the commissioner said.
The structure is designed as the headquarters of the GIS system, while the complex in Mararaba will serve as the main hub to stream in all components of the habitat project implemented on the Nasarawa Development Platform (NDP).
Project Manager of NAGIS, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril said the centre in Mararaba which will serve as a hub, will have all of the computers at the state Ministry of Lands as well as the NAGIS headquarters seen in Lafia and in Mararaba.
