At least 100 women have received free cancer screening at Adigbe Primary HealthCare Centre, Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun state.
The event, organized by an all-female Muslim group, Sisters of Jannah (SOJ), Abeokuta Zone in collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Health, was held in commemoration of the 2023 World Cancer Awareness Campaign.
The awareness was to uncover myths and truths about cancer, stages, preventions, and treatment that have contributed to the loss of lives.
Guest lecturer, Alh. Abdul-Waheed Elegbede, who is also the state health educator for Ogun State Primary HealthCare Development Board, noted that treatment is available if detected early.
