The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has urged Nigerians to support security agencies with credible intelligence to combat insecurity across the country.

He made the call at the third edition of the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST) 2026 held at Kafanchan Township Stadium under the theme, “Embracing Diversity, Building Bridges.”

The event attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, youth groups and community stakeholders from across Southern Kaduna and beyond.

Musa, who received the Southern Kaduna Grand Commander (SKGC) Award, said sustainable peace requires active community participation.

“Security agencies need credible information from citizens to identify and neutralise criminal elements threatening our communities,” he said.

He assured families of kidnapped victims that efforts were ongoing to secure their release and create a safer environment for all Nigerians.

He also urged young people to embrace education, entrepreneurship, technology and skills acquisition while rejecting violence, extremism and substance abuse.

Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Elders Forum, Darey Akau, called for the restoration of the powers and dignity of traditional rulers, arguing that stronger traditional institutions would enhance grassroots security and development.
