Skills acquisition for trainers flagged off in Gwagwalada

The Sarkin Sana’ar Hannu (Chief of Artisans) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, on Sunday, flagged off a skills acquisition programme for master trainers.

Mohammed, while speaking during the exercise, said the objective was to enable the master trainers to train unemployed youths on various kinds of hand skills in order to take them off the street.

He said engaging the youth on skills acquisition was an avenue to create employment and reduce poverty in the society.

He said he started the youth programme in 2016 as a master trainer through a company, Idala Global Plumbing Training, with four apprentices for nine months through the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
