Come July 23 at a mini event, 23 plaques will be given to last year’s winners which include Wizkid, eLDee, 2face, MI, Waje, Don Jazzy, Darey, Ice Prince, DJ Tee, Mode9, Cabo Snoop, Femi, Dr. Sid, and Jah Bless.

Wizkid will also be presented with the biggest prize- a brand new Hyundai Sonata 2011.

Although a date is yet to be announced for The Headies, the official countdown launch is set to take place July 24 with the unveiling of nominees, hosts, sponsors among other revelations.

Though yet to make the date of The Headies public, Hip Hop World Awards is already dangling a new theme “step into the spotlight” before rising and established Nigerian acts whose materials – released between March 2011 and February 2012 – pass the test.
