He told newsmen that the move was part of the society’s activities to promote knowledge about safe environment during the year.
He said the clubs would serve as platform for students to engage in environment-friendly activities.
Olusegun added that other activities lined up for the society in 2014 included tree planting and sensitisation campaigns on effective waste management for motor parks operators and travellers.
“Pupils, motor park operators and commuters will be educated on deforestation, the effect of cutting trees indiscriminately, impact of bush burning to the environment, as well as effective waste management,’’ he said.
The chairman noted that the tree planting campaigns embarked upon by the NSE in some schools in Abaji and Dutse would be extended to other area councils of the FCT.
He said the society was committed to interfacing with government for professional advice toward addressing the environmental challenges confronting the FCT.
He added: “I believe the NSE sensitisation tour of Abuja Municipal Area Council on effective waste management will improve waste management in the area.’’ (NAN)
