A 29-year-old man, Sani Aliyu, was on Tuesday rescued by the police from an angry mob which tried to lynch him at his residence in Katsina over sodomy allegations. 

Aliyu, of Kadarko Housing Estate Sabon Gari, was alleged to have sodomised three young boys inside his business premises at different times.

The police spokesman in Katsina, DSP Isah Gambo, said in a statement that policemen on patrol arrested the suspect at about 0055hrs last Tuesday and saved him from the mob.

He said the victims were later taken to a hospital for examination and treatment, adding that investigation was ongoing.
