Sokoto farmers get 1,000 tiller ploughs

Governor Amaechi, accompanied to the event by Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar and Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State, told the farmers that with the global shift from dependence on oil to agriculture: “You should use the support from your state government to enhance your agribusiness activities.”
He said supporting farmers with facilities to enhance their production was a tactical way of ensuring food sufficiency in the country and guarding against insecurity and other vices.
Wamakko, in his remarks, said his administration will continue to support farmers with modern farming equipment, inputs and hybrid seeds at subsidised rate to improve their agricultural production.
1,000 brand new tillers ploughs were distributed to farmers associations across the state by Amaechi, assisted by Wamakko and the Sultan.
