Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has assured that the state’s 2016 budget would reflect the yearnings and aspirations of the generality of the people.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that Tambuwal disclosed this on Saturday in Sokoto when he addressed some members of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) drawn from the 23 local governments of
the state.
” We will contact the cross section of the people of the state with a view to get their useful inputs into the 2016 proposed budget.
” This is to make sure that any project that we will undertake would improve the living standard of the people of the state.
” In this direction, we will execute projects that the people of the state say they want so as to ensure that their lives are bettered,” he added.
Tambuwal also promised to complete all the people-oriented projects he inherited from his predecessor, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko.
The governor also said that his administration planned to initiate new projects, programmes and policies to sustain the current tempo of the state’s development.
” We will soon initiate such projects and give same to members of the party who have the expertise to handle such projects.
” In the same vein, the generality of the people of the state will have their lives tremendously improved in the areas of the rehabilitation of roads, hospitals, schools, drainages and other infrastructure,” Tambuwal said.
The governor commended the members of the state House of Assembly for cutting short their recess to screen and approve his 23 commissioner-nominees.
Tambuwal also maintained that the formation of the state executive council would greatly bolster the zeal and determination of his administration to move the state forward. ( NAN)
