Soldiers today attacked Quds Day peaceful procession in Zaria, killing eleven people including the son of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, a nursing mother with her baby.The soldiers attacked the peaceful procession, which is marked world wide to sympathise with the Palestinians under Israeli occupation.
Mahmud Zakzaky was among those gunned down by soldiers even though similar processions was conducted in other cities like Kano, Kaduna, Jos, Bauchi, Potiskum without any incident.
An aide to Sheikh Zakzaky who spoke to Daily Trust said about 40 other Muslims sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries.
Quds day is an annual peaceful procession being organised in the last 25 years in Nigeria by the Islamic Movement under the leadership of Sheikh Zakzaky.
The procession took place in major Nigerian cities such as Kaduna, Jos, Kano, Potiskum.
