Soldiers have gunned down two wanted bandits’ informants and recovered hard drugs at Maraban Bishini in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

A community leader, who preferred anonymity, said the suspects were arrested after the soldiers got intelligence information about their movement after they escaped from soldiers at a Kagarko check point on Monday.

He said the soldiers alerted their colleagues who were stationed at Maraban Bishini, and that the suspects, on a motorcycle, also attempted to escape but the soldiers opened fire and killed them on the spot. 

The community leader said cough syrups, hemp, foodstuffs and wines were recovered from the suspects.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
