Soldiers have gunned down two suspected bandits, rescued a pregnant woman and her two children in Maraban Jibo community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader, who preferred anonymity, said, “The woman and her two children were returning from the farm when the bandits whisked them away on Saturday. Some hunters were able to locate their hideout, where they engaged them and rescued the victims.”
A hunter, simply identified as Garba, who was part of the operation, said soldiers went to the bandits’ camp with six motorcycles and rescued the victims.
He said, “Two of the bandits were neutralised while one hunter sustained gunshot injuries during the exchange of fire.”

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for a statement on the incident.
