Soldiers have shot dead a suspected bandits’ informant and arrested one other during a raid in Wolijo and Maraba communities in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.

A resident of Kagarko, Usman Sarki, said, “One of the suspected bandits’ informants tried to escape and the troops opened fire on him, while one other was arrested during a clearance operation in Wolijo and Maraba communities.”

A community leader, who confirmed the incident to our reporter through telephone on Monday, said the presence of troops had brought some relief to residents.

He said, “I am very happy with the latest development, where soldiers raided bandits’ camps and arrested some informants who have become a threat to our lives.”

He added that several cows and sheep were recovered from the bandits during the raid.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident.
