Soldiers kill terrorist in Taraba

Soldiers of Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army (NA), Jalingo, Taraba State, have killed a notorious terrorist, identified simply as Odumegu.

The troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle, phones, charms, among others during an operation at the hideout of the terrorist between Taraba and Benue states.

The spokesman of the Brigade, Captain Oni Olubodunde, in a statement, said the terrorist and his gang engaged the soldiers in a shootout and that in the process he was killed while his men escaped.

Captain Oni said Odumegu was the second in command to Fullfire, the leader of a notorious terrorist gang operating in Taraba and Benue states.

Captain Oni further said that the troops also arrested 10 suspected kidnappers in the Kwando area in Ardo-Kola LGA and in Takum LGA of Taraba State.
