Confirming the arrest of the two suspected bandits’ informants, a security source who was part of the operation but preferred anonymity, said the two were arrested on Sunday around 9:45pm.

He said the arrest followed intelligence information at the disposal of the troops, adding that the suspects, who had been declared wanted, had been on the run since last week.

According to him, the notorious bandits’ informants were responsible for the kidnap of three herders and four women that were returning from SCC village market in Kachia last Wednesday.

A community leader from the area also confirmed the arrest of two notorious wanted bandits’ informants by troops at a hotel in Tafa.

“And from information I got, the suspects were about to escape when the troops arrived and arrested them,” he said.

He also disclosed that two other bandits’ informants were nabbed at Katari market on the same day, Sunday, by troops following intelligence information.
