Soludo sworn-in for second term

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo was on Tuesday sworn in as the Governor of Anambra State for a second term.

Soludo was sworn in at 11.55a.m., after his deputy, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, was sworn in earlier by the Chief Judge of Anambra, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu.

He arrived Ekwueme Square, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former President Goodluck Jonathan, to a tumultuous reception.

The Governor reaffirmed confidence in President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a courageous and patriotic leader capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges and advancing development in the South-East after he was sworn in.

In his inaugural address, Soludo commended Tinubu for ongoing federal infrastructure projects in the region, particularly the Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the Second Niger Bridge.

The governor noted that the President’s interventions signaled renewed federal attention to the needs of the South-East.

Soludo also called on Igbos to actively engage in national politics and build alliances that would strengthen their influence in decision-making processes.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima said Gov. Soludo had demonstrated with elegance and courage what it meant for a democrat to lead.

He said there was no doubt that the people of Anambra had now witnessed what many had long heard about, the ‘Soludo Solution’.(NAN)
